We're hiring a VISTA!

EEWV is looking for the right person to help us build West Virginia's energy efficient economy.

About us
Energy Efficient West Virginia (EEWV) is building a more energy efficient economy in West Virginia to help increase employment and economic diversity, while cutting costs for families and small businesses. Energy efficiency is the most cost-effective, clean method of meeting our energy needs - even cheaper than producing power from our most inexpensive sources. We are working with the existing industry and other professionals to help create demand for energy efficiency services and make it easier for people to go energy efficient.

About you
This position is for an idealist who likes to win. You like to communicate ideas for a cause you believe in, and you want to do so in a way that is research-driven to ensure efficacy. You believe in energy efficiency. Maybe it's because you want to help people struggling in today's economy. Or maybe it's because you think that West Virginia should have more economic opportunities. Or maybe it's because you like how energy efficiency is clean. Whatever the reason, you want to be effective and make a difference. You're not particularly interested in fighting losing battles.

About the position
This is a key point in the development of the energy efficiency industry in West Virginia. As utility rates continue to go up and more and more focus is being placed on economic diversity, energy efficiency is poised to become a more critical part of the economy. This position is focused on building the energy efficiency economy to be more focused and engaged on expanding employment opportunities in the state within its businesses.

This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position. It is a 1-year commitment, but the position addresses long-term needs and EEWV would like to fund it as a full-time staff position in subsequent years.
