April 26, 2013 - West Virginia Citizen Action Group filed expert testimony (here and here) opposing Mon Power and Potomac Edison's plan to purchase the Harrison power plant, arguing that the plan is risky, expensive, and not in the public interest.

March 4, 2013 - Integrated Resource Planning(H.B. 2803) introduced today to the House of Delegates' Government Organization Committee.

December 6, 2012 - WVU College of Law's Center for Energy & Sustainable Development has released a white paper titled "The Case for Integrated Resource Planning in West Virginia" - From the paper, "The need for integrated resource planning cannot be made more clear than through the obvious inadequacies of the FE Resource Plan, with its self-serving “analysis” that concludes how 
“fortunate” West Virginia ratepayers are to be able to take these uncompetitive plants off the

November 26, 2012 - WV Citizen Action Group, a coalition member of EEWV, filed to intervene in a case at the Public Service Commission where Mon Power and Potomac Edison are proposing to raise residential electric rates by buying the Harrison coal plant from an affiliated company.

October 3, 2012 - The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has published their annual State Energy Efficiency ScorecardWest Virginia dropped from 46th in 2011 to 49th in the 2012. The report advises states to adopt an adequately funded Energy Efficiency Resource Standard (EERS) to increase energy efficiency most effectively. Learn more about the EERS here.

September 7, 2012 - Comment on the Division of Energy 5-year Energy Draft Plan. The public comment period will end on September 14, 2012. See attached for a list of suggested comments.

June 7, 2012 - WV Citizen Action Group, a founding organization of Energy Efficient West Virginia, filed testimony today in Appalachian Power's energy efficiency case at the Public Service Commission advocating for the expansion of Appalachian Power's current efficiency programs.
